WEST Wilts Ladies fine start to the new season continued as they completed a weekend league and cup double.
The Warminster side thrashed Team Bath Buccaneers 3rd 10-1 in the West Clubs League East Division on Saturday and followed by with a 4-3 triumph against Swanage & Wareham in round one of the Investec Womens Trophy.
The hosts swept into a 5-1 half-time lead at Kingdown School on Saturday as Jaz Bixley opened the scoring with a firm strike.
Olivia Evans made it two from a short corner before she and Bixley scored again and Fiona Pridham neeted a fifth after finishing off a move started by Nicki Stranks.
The goals kept coming in the second period Stranks, player of the match Evans twice, Bixley and Shelly Hodgson taking the ally into double figures.
On Sunday, Wilts trailed 2-0 at half-time but levelled matters in the second half through Evans and Hodgson.
Melissa Ilic equalised for a third time after Swanage had regained the lead but the match was decided when Nic Yalland deflected in a strike by Karla Cundick.
- WEST Wilts 2nd were beaten 1-0 by Team Bath Buccanneers 4th in Wessex Division One on Saturday.
It was a similar story for the third team, who went down by a single goal to Team Bath Buccaneers 5th in Wessex Division Two.
