Corsham were spared the task of a daunting run chase in their Premier One clash with leaders Bath as the weather forced an abandonment.
Robin D’Souza’s side had put their opponents in to bat first at Station Road after winning the toss but saw Bath’s Tim Rouse hit 78 Sam Mount (45), Luke Padgett (43) and Will Jenkins (42) took Bath to 323-8, Hasitha Da Silva with three wickets for the home side Ashur Morrison and Joe King taking two apiece.
The match was abandoned in the second over of Corsham’s reply.
In Premier Two, bottom-of-the-table Warminster were in a strong position before the elements put paid to their home clash with Minehead.
Tom Davie’s side, who had lost six on the trot, were put in after losing the toss and both Nathan Bond (57) and Miikee Selmes (52) passed the half-century mark.
Warminster reached 238-9 midway through the 44th over and declared but the clash was brought to an end during Minehead’s second over.
In the Glos/Wilts division, Westbury were on the ropes against title hopefuls Biddestone before they were saved by the elements.
Richard Oakley’s men were put in to bat first and were put under constant pressure by the visitors Joshua Bolton and Naeem Khan, who took 3-17 and 3-19 respectively. Jared McDonald (25), Ben Whiting (20) and Simon Rose (16) were the only batsmen to reach double figures as Westbury were out for a lowly 94 in just over 37 overs.
But after just five overs of Biddestone’s innings, the clash was brought to a premature end.
There were also no results in the Wiltshire Division, with Winsley saved from a perilous position at home to Calne.
The visitors batted first after winning the toss, with both Sean Adams and Calne captain Knight hitting centuries as the away side stamped their authority on the game.
Adams made 121 whilst Knight was unbeaten on 112, with Calne posting an impressive 321-6 despite Winsley’s Ben Strange taking three wickets.
Charlie Holton’s men were rescued by the rain as the match was abandoned before they took to the crease.
Trowbridge were bowled out for 168 against leaders Swindon, John Carroll top scoring with 36.
Swindon were 93-2 in reply when play was halted.
