SAMOAN back row Alafoti Fa’osiliva has joined Bath Rugby.
Fa’osiliva, who has most recently been playing for Bristol, made his name representing the Samoa Sevens team, and was part of the 2009-10 IRB Sevens World Series championship-winning squad.
Hewas nominated for the 2010 IRB International Sevens Player of the Year award and will immediately line up for his new club on Thursday night as the 2013-14 season gets underway with the first round of the J.P. Morgan Asset Management 7s Series at Kingsholm.
Junior World Championship-winning England U20s duo Ollie Devoto and Anthony Watson are also included, along with acrum-half Chris Cook and South African back row Nick Koster
University scholar Ollie Evans, who was on standby for the GB Students 7s squad at the recent World University Games, is also included as are current Bath Rugby Academy members Max Clarke, Freddie Clarke, Ludi Hopkinson and Max Northcote-Green – who joins the Academy having spent a year out playing with the Sydney Uni Colts in Australia.
The squad is completed by two guest players - current Army stars – winger Raymond Bishop and fly-half Tuvita Tamatawale.
Alafoti said: “I’m really excited to be coming to Bath, and can’t wait to get started with the 7s on Thursday. It’s a great form of the game, and one I’m obviously quite familiar with, so it’s a perfect way for me to get my Bath career underway.”
