BOX’S eight-wicket victory over Collingbourne was their 10th successive win and cemented their places at the top.

Winning the toss Collingbourne elected to bat first and raced to 50 inside eight overs.

Box, however had picked up two wickets in that period, Rob Styles continuing his good form with the ball.

Cameron Wright helped the home side to 129-3 with 15 overs left with a knock of 67, but the Box bowlers took control and bowled out the home side for 185.

Styles ended with 5-26, while Gerald Hayward (2-29), and skipper Richard Foley (1-36) also did the damage.

Hayward and Neil Pettit put on a first wicket partnership of 114 inside 20 overs before both fell in quick succession for 62 and 51 respectively.

Foley (43*) and David Sanchez (28*) secured the win to take Box 57 points clear with eight games left.

Westinghouse made 165-6 in their clash with Lacock, Alex Williams hitting an unbeaten 51 and Chris Grace 35.

Lacock got home inside 35 overs with two wickets to spare, Steve Copland making 63, as John Haines took 4-52.

Division 1

PURTON made up for their opening-day defeat to Bradford on Avon with a comfortable nine-wicket victory over the same opponents.

Akarshit Gomel made an unbeaten 82 and Tom Bowler an unbeaten 44 as the table-toppers extended their unbeaten streak to nine matches in chasing down Bradford’s 162-9.

“The boys were obviously disappointed with the way we performed there on the opening day and it was nice to make sure we won this weekend,” said Purton skipper Elliot Hill .

Only Nick Gerrish, with 50, provided real resistance for Bradford, as Purton’s attack – spearheaded by Aaron Lee – forced the visitors into a rut.

Wootton Bassett captain Darren Beasant hailed SamLawro’s “imperious” century after watching his side dispatch of Malmesbury at Rylands Way.

Lawro’s unbeaten 100 saw the hosts bounce back from defeat to Urchfont last time out to claim a comprehensive eight-wicket victory.

Supported by the hard-hitting Harvey Cummins, Lawro saw Bassett to their target in a little over 26 overs after Paul Huckin took all the wickets in restricting Malmesbury to 185-6 from their 45 overs.

Swindon Nalgo cemented their position in the middle of the able as they claimed a 59-run victory over Beanacre & Melksham.

Nalgo posted 169 all out as Shoayb Rahman scored 67, Gary Ings taking 3-39 for Beanacre.

Latif Hussain's 5-32 proved decisive in the reply as Beanacre were bowled out for 110.

Division 3

NEIL Harber’s 122 helped Beehive amass 314-9 against Wilcot, Clive Warren adding 57 and Tim Mister taking 3-54.

Wilcot were dismissed for 119 in 38 overs, Mister with 35 as Adi Day took 4-27.

Division 4

YOUNGSTERS shone in Potterne 3rd’s six-wicket loss to Beanacre & Melksham 2nd. Fourteen year old George Elliott hit an unbeaten 46 in his side’s 195-5, Mark Colyer adding 58 and Stu Raddon 56.

There were two wickets each for Scott Cameron and Tom Watling and Beanacre were indebted to an unbeaten 88 from Joe Veacock in their winning reply, Darren Perrin adding 38.

Marcus Bond's unbeaten 54 helped Malmesbury 2nd to a seven-wicket triumph over Swindon B, who scored 125 as Jim Pickering took six wickets.

Division 5

WOOTTON Bassett 3rd's pursuit of leaders Buscot Park continued as they won by 15 runs against Warmin-ster 4th.

Scott Twine scored 52 in his side's 236, Stuart Grant with 49 and David Griffin 63 before Warminster came up short on 221-9.

Division 6

LEADERS Cherhill suffered a setback as they were dismissed for 127 chasing Goatacre 3rd’s 198-9. Matthew Holmes (43) and Dan Wiseman (47) lifted Goatacre to their total.

Division 7

WINSLEY 3rd’s up-and-down season continued with a 10-wicket defeat at home to leaders Heytesbury & Sutton Veny 2nd.

Alex Gough, striking the ball cleanly in an impressive 57, and captain David Baxter (61*) hit their first ever half-centuries.

But Winsley’s total of 174 was soon looking inadequate as Heytesbury’s Rob Robson struck an imperious unbeaten 131.

With Andy Frost (31*) providing patient support, they raced to victory with almost 20 overs to spare.

Lacock 2nd stayed in touch with a 10-wicket success over Devizes 3rd, who were all out for 139, Anthony Edwards taking 4-27 and Tim Culling 3-12.

Lacock 2 stormed to 143-0 wickets from 22 overs, Alan Davies hitting an unbeaten 84 and Barry Harding – in his first game for more than two years – adding 53 not out.

Box 2nds managed a narrow two-wicket victory over Boomsbury, Steve Hall taking 3-3 and Chris Jenkins’ unbeaten 43.

Division 8

TOM Oakley hit 84 and Dave Reynolds 66 as Trowbridge B (207 all out ) defeated Beehive 2nd (89).

Steve Dolman hit 104 in Chippenham 4th’s 212 all-out, against Calne 3rd (145) for whom Tom Hall took 5-41.
