North Dorset 50, Cooper-Avon Tyres 7
CATs threw caution to the wind and paid the price as North Dorset ran in eight tries at Slaughtergate.
Trailing 14-0 at the break, CATs coach Mark Simmons challenged his players to produce some enterprising rugby in the second half.
But running the ball from deep inside their own 22 was not quite what Simmons had in mind.
He said: "It was quite refreshing to see us throw the ball around and there were some real cameo performances out there.
"The try we scored was terrific, but we conceded some needless points as well.
"I didn't tell the players to run the ball from our 22 but they seemed to be enjoying themselves so I thought I'd let them carry on."
Wing Richard Piercy got the sole try for CATs but the whole team deserve a mention after the ball went through 15 pairs of hands in a several-phase move.
Matt Trueman added the gloss with a conversion from beneath the posts to give the Tyremen something to celebrate on the way home.
"We could have kept things tight and lost by 20-odd points but we would never have scored," said Simmons.
"Scoring has been a problem for us this season which is why we tried to recycle the ball much quicker in the second half.
"North Dorset were stronger than us from 1 to 15 and would have won the game anyway, so at least we gave it a go."
Simmons may opt for a slightly less cavalier approach against Oldfield Old Boys tomorrow as the Melksham men look for their first win of the season.
