STUDENTS from George Ward School in Melksham combined to break the marathon world record in a fund-raiser with a difference.
Twenty members of the Year 10 rugby team ran laps of the school's artificial turf pitch until the 26-miles had been completed.
The students shaved more than three minutes off the world record with a time of two hours and 39 seconds to raise money for a tour of Dublin during Easter 2007.
