City of Bath B 1, Chippenham 3
CHIPPENHAM made it seven wins from seven games, beating a spirited City of Bath side that were a lot better than their current bottom of the table position would suggest.
It was the home side who dominated the opening period and it was Chippenham's inability to keep possession that gifted Bath their first chance from a short corner which was well saved by Chippenham goalkeeper Howard Simons.
Chippenham found it difficult to get going and some indecisive defending led to Bath taking the lead.
Once behind, Chippenham began to get into the game more and with Dodd and Morris linking well in the midfield, the first of several first half short corners were won, all producing comfortable saves for the Bath goalkeeper.
A trade mark run from Steve Burton saw him beat several Bath players and open Chippenham's account from a tight angle via a deflection off the goalkeeper's pads.
In the second half Price, Main and Morris all went close before the deadlock was finally broken when Main's shot was skillfully deflected into the opposite corner by Morris following a set short corner routine.
Within minutes Morris and Dodd combined well to set up Burton on the right and he beat several defenders before squaring the ball to Main who calmly slotted Chippenham's final goal.
Chippenham entertain Devizes tomorrow in what looks like being a keenly contested local derby.

CHIPPENHAM A lost their fourth game of the season to their local rivals.
In the second half, Chippenham lost forward Steve Silk with a cracked bone in his shoulder.
Shepton Mallet C 1, Chippenham B 8
ALTHOUGH the Shepton team had some promising youngsters and were a refreshingly sporting team, their loose marking and less polished midfield control let them down.
Penetrating runs from Dan Wright and Joe Saunders drew enough space for the forwards to open their account and by half-time Chippenham led 3-0.
Tim Harris scored five goals, earning him the man-of-the-match award, and the other goals came from Steve Kilvington (2) and Guy Barrett.
Chippenham Ladies 3, Exmouth Ladies 2nds 1
CHIPPENHAM romped to their first league win of the season with a fine display.
The first ten minutes of the match saw Chippenham play some nervous hockey but the midfield of Helen Dolman and Laura Carey started to work well together and Chippenham surged forward.
Some fine, accurate passing and movement ended with Chippenham's first goal which seemed to act as the spur for the team to go onto bigger and better things. Mounting pressure and attacks which began from the Chippenham defence put sustained pressure on Exmouth and by half-time, the home side had a healthy three goal lead.
Chippenham Ladies 2nds 2, North Wilts Ladies 2
CHIPPENHAM enjoyed the majority of possession for much of the first half but North Wilts took a first half lead against the run of play.
Chippenham struck back after the break and Marie Franckom took on several defenders in the circle, before slipping the ball into the back of the net and equalise.
They then took the lead after earning a series of penalty corners, one of which was converted by Mary Derrick.
With fifteen minutes to go, North Wilts grabbed the equaliser from another penalty corner.
Fry's Ladies 3rds 1, Chippenham Ladies 3rds 2
CHIPPENHAM'S third team continued their winning streak with their fourth win in a row.
Jade Jackman and Emma Joyce scored the goals.
Player-of-the-match was Kate Potter.
Bath Buccs Ladies 5ths 3, Chippenham Ladies 4ths 0
A BITTERLY cold evening pushback time saw Chippenham Ladies fourth team hold Buccs to a 3-0 result playing with only ten players.
Buccs had the benefit of having sixteen players available.
Player of the match was Carolyn Cameron.
