MARCUS Young scored a hat-trick to lead Kingfisher to a surprise 4-2 away win over leaders North Bradley in Division One.
Chris Fardell gave Bradley the lead, but this was cancelled out by a 30-yard free kick from Adam Smith before half-time.
Marcus Young them scored twice to give Kingfisher an advantage but Andy Colebrooke pulled one back for a thrilling finale to the game. Young completed his hat-trick for Kingfisher, who have now established a reputation as league giantkillers, but only after a missed penalty by Phil Read had ended the villagers' hopes of a point.
Semington moved up to second place after a comfortable 4-0 win at Hullavington. Kelvin Lockwood and Richard Allum got them under way with strikes in the first half. Stewart Donohoe and a beautifully curled effort by Nathan Walker completed the scoring.
Chippenham Police are still searching for their first point of the season and their visit to high-flying North Star A was never likely to be fruitful.
A third hat-trick in five games for Ronnie Kallmeier together with goals from Ally Duncan, Tommy Ludford, Marc Forrester, Rob Smith and an own goal made up the Star's total. Jason Roberts hit possibly the goal of the game from 25 yards as consolation for the boys in blue as North Star finished the game with only nine fit players.
Chippenham Sports and Social finally scored the goal they have been chasing and gained an away point at the same time when they played Potterne.
Anthony Brown gave the Chippenham side the lead in the 75th minute only for his brother Germaine to give away a penalty at the other end, which James Bayes dispatched for a share of the points.
After having a week off it was business as usual for FC Colerne, who ran out comfortable 11-1 winners against the in-form Atworth.
With competition for places high on the agenda every player gave 100 per cent, but man-of-the-match Jason Smith gave that little bit extra, scoring once and assisting in no fewer than eight goals. The goals came from hat-tricks for Jamie Bowler, Dave Roderick and Charlie Spirrell, with singles for Brian Doyle and the impressive Smith.
A classic 16 yard header from Leon Ireland and a Josh Robinson effort gave Foresters a 2-0 half-time lead against Christian Malford. In the second half the game was more evenly balanced with a further Forester goal from Steve Peglar and one for Malford from Richard Bruce.
Premier Division
WITH so many teams involved in cup competitions there were only two fixtures left in the top flight and the advantage went to both the home sides.
Bradford News ran in five goals against Sherston Town despite losing goalkeeper Charlie Heydon and the influential Mark Hurkett early in the first half.
This did not halt their progress and they went in two up at half-time thanks to Jamie Davies and a tap in for sub Jamie Bliss. John Burt, deputising for the injured Heydon, only parried the ball into the air for Sherston to get one back early in the second half but two goals for Jason Povey and one from Martin Powell put the game out of reach for Sherston.
Trowbridge Harriers are still looking for their first win of the campaign and came desperately close on Sunday when they made the journey to Maud Heath Sports. They held the Sportsmen to a goal-less first period but after the break found themselves three adrift.
A spirited comeback saw a Steve Lewin cross end up in the back of the net, complete with the defender who had deflected it in, and a 15-yard shot from Mike Spong brought it back to a more respectable 3-2 defeat for the Harriers.
Division Two
HORSE and Groom finally got the win they have been so desperately looking for when they beat Biddestone Arms 3-1.
The turning point of the match was a penalty save by Horse and Groom goalkeeper Paul Aland at a time that a goal would have given the Arms the lead. Prior to that Tom Hanks had given the Westbury pub side the lead only for Jack Goodship to level.
A back post header from Ben Derrick and Paul Bendell finally getting on the score sheet after missing a number of good chances gave the Groom a much needed victory and lifted them out of the relegation zone.
Sutton Benger entertained British Lion OC at Stanley Park looking for their first win of the season, but it was British Lion who took the points with a 3-0 win.
Andy Stonestreet and Alan Webster (2) scored for the British Lion, who remain on the tails of leaders Rowde and AFC Calne, whose fixture was postponed.
A Carl Davis penalty after five minutes gave Southwick Sports a dream start in their home game against Crown Devizes but there were no further home goals in the remainder of the match. Crown ran in three to take both points with Matty Nash, Darren Thorpe and Paul Revening on target.
With ten minutes to go FC Bradford found themselves in the unusual position of leading in a match having taken a 2-1 lead in their game with Pig and Whistle. But it was at this point that the Whistle side finally had their full team having played for 50 minutes with only ten following an early injury and Dave Jenkin scored his second goal to give the Melksham side a share of the points.
With Fascia Graphics having pulled out of the league White Horse were without a fixture.
Division Three
CORSHAM Park Rangers and Westbury Rangers B fought out a spirited midtable draw that saw the Park side take the lead in the 27th minute when a Kevin Hodgkinson's cross was met by Mark Purcell, whose shot gave the goalkeeper no chance.
They held on until the 87th minute when a corner was only headed clear out as far as Pete Seviour whose shot went through the crowded penalty area and into the net.
AFC Pilot extended their winning run to four games with a victory over Biddestone White Horse. Pilot took the lead after five minutes with a great 30 yard strike from Chris Bishop. Despite repeated chances, Pilot took until the 25th minute to extend their lead when a cross-field ball from Rich Siekeira was headed into his own net by a White Horse defender to give Pilot a 2-0 half-time lead.
In the second half the warnings were there for Pilot as Biddestone continued to catch them on the break but failed to take their chances. In the 60th minute Biddestone's determination paid off when they clawed a goal back through Michael Clarke. With both teams looking dangerous Pilot restored their two goal cushion after 67 minutes when a Chris Bishop cross was headed home by Lee Jackson. Biddestone continued to press and Tamlyn Goodrich got the score back to 3-2 in the 85th minutes to set up a tense finale.
With The Southgate Inn on cup duty, Cooper-Avon had the chance to close the gap at the top and this they did in style beating rivals Blue Circle 5-2.
The game was finely poised at 1-1 at half-time and it was not until the 75th minute that the floodgates opened, with five goals being scored in the remaining 15 minutes. Goals came from Simian Mills (2), Dave Macey (2) and Simon Gillat for the Avon and Russell Dyer and Neil Watts for Blue Circle.
The result leaves Cooper-Avon four points behind the leaders but with a game in hand.
After picking up the Team of the Week award last week, Somerford faced a difficult away trip to Pack Horse Rangers and, thanks to two Scott Hatton first half goals following defensive errors by the Rangers, they had a great chance of picking up the spoils.
This was after a Sean Rushmore free kick and a stunning Glyn Pascoe volley had given Pack Horse the lead. With it all to play for in the second half Somerford unfortunately lost the services of two key players and finally fell behind to two further goals from Steve Jenkins and a second for Rushmore
The game of the day in Division Three saw the meeting of bottom two Chippenham United ROAB and White Hart Combe.
In what had been expected to be a close encounter, White Hart ran out 10-1 winners, hitting the form that saw them promoted at the end of last season.
Martin Riddell hit the solitary goal for the Chippenham side and White Hart's goals came from James Stone (5), Glyn Stott, Lee Fernandez, Will Cousins, Jamie Farquharson and an own goal.
For the second week running Wheatsheaf played against Sir Audley's Arms and were looking to avenge last week's defeat.
It looked good when after 70 seconds a Gavin Cox throw was crossed in by Graham Neale for Adi King to deftly flick it into the net. Sir Audley's hit back with a Luke Gullick double only for Paul Taylor's shot to be blocked and fall to the feet of Terry Cox who lobbed the goalkeeper from 10 yards to level the game at half time.
In the second period Stuart White scored his first goal of the season to put the Audley's back in front and with the final kick of the game the points were secured when James McLaughlin scored from 40 yards.
Division Four
LEADERS Little George went in only 1-0 up at the break through Ben Husband but came out guns blazing for the second period and knocked in three more against a weakened North Star B.
Steve Healy and a double from Nat Auckland, one following brilliant wing play by Nick Bale, were enough to maintain their claim to the title.
Bromham (Sunday) went third and continue to grow in confidence following their 2-0 home win over Chippenham West End. The goals came either side of half-time from Freddie Paget and a bullet header from Steve Moxham.
Wanderers returned to winning ways and can now mount a serious push for the top of the table following their 5-0 away success at Corsham United. In a game they started with 10 players the visitors were quickly ahead with a Dylan Turner lob from 25 yards. Nick Tate doubled the advantage before the break and further goals from Tate, Domonic Shepherd and Andy Hill completed the rout.
Crown FC went into the game with pressure on them from the previous week's headlines and they lived up to the hype with a 5-0 win over The Rising Sun.
Solid work by Dan Sloan on the left resulted in a corner 20 minutes into the first half and Jason Lucas was on hand to fire home a low shot. In the second half Rising Sun started to push forward and could have scored but they only troubled the keeper once from 40 yards - Clive Noyes, celebrating his first clean sheet of the season, pushing the ball safely over the bar.
In the second period good work from the impressive Nick Buckle carved an opening for substitute Adam Bewley to fire at goal. This was cleared by Boyd but Bewley toe poked home the rebound to ease the pressure.
Rising Sun were forced to take off their man-of-the-match goalkeeper who had saved them on no less than six occasions with some sublime saves. After his exit the goals flooded in as first an Ashley Holt throw-in was flicked on by Dean Potter into the bottom corner of the net.
The Crown then turned the game into a training match with so much time and space, passing easily, pushing forward and Potter was rewarded with his second goal following some fine individual work by Buckle. Potter's third could have been a penalty after Buckle ran rings round the back four to get fouled in the area twice, only to keep on his feet, hit the inside of the post, and Potter firing in for his hat-trick and 13th league goal of the season.
The game between Old Road Tavern and AFC Bell fell foul of their Stanley Park pitch being unavailable due to a firework display.
