PREMIER Division Holt edged through to the next round after winning a thriller on the village playing field against Castrol from Swindon.

Holt finally won 5-4 in the dying seconds of extra-time when Tom Pang beat the goalkeeper from a tight angle to secure the victory.

With the score at 2-1 at half-time, goals from Tyler Pang and an own goal, Holt looked to be cruising, but only ten minutes later Castrol had taken the lead.

A Tom Pang header levelled the game to take it to extra-time only for Castrol to go ahead again. Just when the sizable crowd thought that was it, Tyler Pang popped up to score his second before watching his brother score the winner.

In the all-Fourth Division clash AFC Melksham were 4-0 winners over Trowbridge Town Supporters' Club, although the score line hides a much tougher test for Melksham who were held until the last 20 minutes.

AFC Melksham controlled the first half, with man-of-the-match Chris Rogers dominating the midfield. Melksham had a dozen shots in the first half and Luke Ballinger hit the post twice after rounding the keeper.

In the second half Ballinger hit the post again and a half dozen other chances were missed by AFC before the first goal finally came when Ballinger's corner went straight through a crowd of players and into the net.

Melksham followed up shortly afterwards when a great cross by Steve Kew was headed in by Ballinger. Ashley Fletcher came on, was put through on goal, and hit a great first time shot to make it 3-0. The fourth goal was scored after Melksham counter-attacked and Marcus Underwood crossed for in-form Ballinger to complete his hat-trick.

In the second all-Chippenham Sunday League affair, Second Division The Ship welcomed Spencer Sports to Stallards in Trowbridge but found themselves on the wrong end of a 6-2 defeat. A Gary Hignett hat-trick, two from Royston Aust and one from James Eatough were enough for the Premier Division side to go through. The Ship replied with goals from Dave Percival and Matt Minnis.

Both King's Arms and The Southgate Inn hit seven against their opponents in home fixtures against Swindon sides.

King's Arms beat Patheon 7-4, thanks to goals from debutant Booker Woodford (3), Pete Spong (3) and Nathan Flower.

The Southgate tally was made up by Stuart Skinner (3), Julian Alexander (2), Jamie Gale and Nick Taylor in their 7-3 win against Pinehurst Community, but the goal of the game came from the head of Jake Davis who scored from 18 yards into his own net.

Two Premier Division sides went out, both without scoring. Winsley lost 3-0 at Sunday Marlin and Box Rovers went down 2-0 at Wroughton WMC.

Dog and Fox Ashley went through on a walkover when their opponents Churchill Arms withdrew and holders Corsham Centre play their game against fancied AFC Gas next week as they were involved in the national FA Sunday Cup.
