WESTBURY United produced a stirring comeback by scoring three goals in the final 12 minutes of a tight and at times feisty match to beat Ilfracombe Town 3-1 in the preliminary round of the Les Phillips Cup.

They will play Willand Rovers away in the next round.

Leon Taswell put Ilfracombe ahead in the 29th minute when he took advantage of an error by Westbury goalkeeper Nick Evans.

With 12 minutes left Tom Staddon showed strength on the right wing to hold off two defenders and set up the equaliser for Nathan Hallett.

On 86 minutes Allan Clarke played the ball into the box and substitute Paul Edwards held off a challenge from Steve Hobbs and chipped the ball home to put Westbury ahead.

The comeback was completed in stoppage time when Edwards added a third.
