Swindon 2nds 42, Bradford on Avon 5

DEPLETED Bradford conceded seven tries for the second consecutive week when their patchwork squad was ripped apart in Swindon.

Coach Dave George was forced to make 12 changes from the side which lost at Calne last week as the injury list at the Broom Ground grows ever longer.

Chris Audry scored the sole try for Bradford, who trailed Swindon by just three points until half-time.

It was a proud day for the veteran prop, who played alongside his two sons Sam and Joe for the first time at first team level.

But the Audry family could little to prevent Swindon's dominance after the interval as the hosts ran in six unanswered tries.

George says he has never experienced anything like the current injury crisis which is threatening to ruin Bradford's season.

"Just when we started to build up some confidence with a couple of wins, we get hit by all these injuries," he said.

"I had a player list in front of me on Thursday night and I spent the whole evening ringing anyone and everyone.

"A couple of guys played for me on Saturday that I have never even seen before."

George hopes tomorrow's home fixture against Colerne will bring a victory to boost morale, but the coach has warned things could get worse before they get better.

"I don't even know whether we have anyone fit enough to train this week," he said.

"Rugby at this level is all about decision-making and awareness with the ball in hand.

"But it's hard to coach those things when you don't know who will be playing from one week to the next."
