BIRDS, bats, fungi or trees, there is something about the outdoors to interest everyone this autumn.
The Avon Gorge and Downs Wildlife Project is holding a series of events throughout the cooler months from children's art and folklore investigations to in-depth talks of rare trees and fungi.
The project is a partnership between Bristol City Council, the Downs Committee, English Nature and the Society of Merchant Venturers.
The aim is to secure the outstanding wildlife of the Bristol side of the Avon Gorge and the Clifton and Durdham Downs and to raise awareness and understanding of the unique location and its importance for people and wildlife.
Events still to come include Butter bumps and mud dappers, a talk on sayings and folklore, on November 14 and Robins and Mistletoe, an evening of festive folklore, on December 5.
