THE grandmother killed in a head-on car crash while travelling with her two young grandchildren has been named.
Mary Brown, 60, of Avon Road, Melksham, died when her green Ford Ka2 collided with a red Vauxhall Calibre driven by 20-year-old Lewis Shergold from Calne, who was also killed.
The accident happened shortly before 4.30pm on Friday at a place called Black Barn, just south of Tilshead on the A360 Devizes to Salisbury road.
Mrs Brown's grandchildren aged eight and six years, who were back seat passengers, have been discharged from hospital.
The 18-year-old woman and 17-year-old man, who were passengers in the Calibre, are being treated in hospital for serious but not life threatening injuries.
Inquiries into the cause of the accident are continuing and any witnesses who have not already spoken to the police are asked to come forward.
