You're never too old to make new friends and enjoy the company of old acquaintances.
Once a month - normally the second Sunday of each month - between 1.30pm and 5pm, Trowbridge Town Councilorganises a social afternoon for the older people of Trowbridge.
Held at the Civic Hall in St Stephen's Place, tea, coffee or soft drinks are provided on arrival and sandwiches and cake are served mid-afternoon.
As well asthe opportunity to play dominoes, bingo or chess, and take part in the raffle, professional entertainment by a variety, comedy or musical act is also laid on.
Twice a year day trips by coach are arranged to locations such as Weymouth or Weston-Super-Mare. Exactdestinations are advertised nearer the time.
Why not go along along, join in the fun and meet old or new friends? It may be possible to arrange transport for those people who have difficulty getting there.
Normal Sunday afternoons cost £2 (£3 for people outside the town boundary), payable on the day.

If you enjoy a craft, look out for a local club or evening class. Handicrafts have enjoyed a recent renaissance, so it's a good way to meet people of all ages.
