MOST of us probably don't even think twice about the freedom we have or the independence we enjoy every single day.
Yet, without the sacrifices of those who fought in two world wars and many other conflicts, our lives could be so very different.
Remembrance Sunday, which falls this year on November 12, is a chance for us all to show our thanks and give practical help to those who still carry the mental and physical scars of war.
Please buy a poppy and wear it with pride to show that "we will remember them".
Cllr PAUL BATCHELOR (Lib Dem, Warminster West) Chairman, WWDC, Bradley Rd, Trowbridge
