THE streets of Warminster will be awash with floats and thousands of revellers tomorrow as the town hosts its annual carnival.
The procession, with almost 60 entries, begins at 6.45pm in Boreham Road and weaves its way through the town to finish in Grovelands Way.
This year most of the money raised will go to the Wiltshire Air Ambulance, and a sum will also be donated to local charities.
A week of fundraising began on Monday with an open evening at Warminster fire station and continued with a number of other activities including a quiz at the Old Bell pub in Market Place on Tuesday and a bingo night on Wednesday.
Tomorrow morning the fun kicks off with a tombola in Three Horseshoes Walk from 10am and collection buckets will be passed around throughout the carnival procession to raise much-needed funds for the air ambulance.
Warminster Carnival committee chairman Sandra Major said: "We don't have a target for how much money we want to raise, we just want it to be as much as possible.
"I would say to everyone just come along because we do like people to contribute, it is a free show and should be a good night for all."
The carnival procession will follow the same route as last year. From Boreham Road it travels along East Street, Market Place, High Street, George Street, Silver Street, Vicarage Street and West Street before arriving in Grovelands Way.
Supporters of the procession are asked to be in place from 6.30pm.
