HAVING your drink spiked could result in you being sexually assaulted, robbed or becoming the victim of ID theft, Wiltshire Police warned this week.
The force is focusing on drink spiking for November as part of OP XS, their campaign to crack down on excessive alcohol consumption and disorder.
Confirmed cases of drink spiking are rare but Wiltshire's Assistant Chief Constable Peter Vaughan warned people drinking in pubs and clubs to be vigilant.
He said: "Some people think it's funny to drop substances into people's drink but the results can be life shattering.
"It can lead to date rape, personal injury, robbery and some people have become victims of identity theft.
"We want to help people to be able to socialise and let their hair down without fear.
