A COUPLE who met at a wedding reception celebrated their diamond wedding anniversary yesterday.
Sid and Peggy Hall, pictured right, of Manor Close, Trowbridge, met when Mr Hall's brother married his future wife's sister.
Mr Hall, 83, served with the RAF regiment in the Second World War, and the couple tied the knot in Blackwood, South Wales, the year after the conflict ended.
They moved to Bath in the late 1940s and lived in the city for more than 40 years, where Mr Hall worked for Sparrow Crane Hire. They have three children, Margaret, Christina and Nick, and moved to Trowbridge 16 years ago to be closer to their family, as two of them live in the town.
The couple are celebrating their anniversary with a lunch for family and friends in Bath on Sunday.
They also have eight grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, with two more on the way, and a great-great-granddaughter.
