BOWLS player Arthur Weeks died at home on October 19 at the age of 69.
Mr Weeks, of Priory Close, Bradford on Avon, was born on July 11, 1937 and brought up in Bath but later moved to Bradford.
After leaving school he served an apprenticeship as a cabinet member and completed National Service before working as a deliverer for Bath Wholesale Fruiterers.
He later worked for Avon Rubber in Kingston Mills, Bradford on Avon, as a mixer, until he took early retirement.
He then worked helping the community and delivered tablets and prescriptions from the pharmacy in Silver Street.
David Griffith, who received weekly deliveries from Mr Weeks, said: "I needed special food after being treated for cancer in my neck. Without Arthur's delivery I just don't know how I would have got the food without him as I live at the top of a hill.
"He used to bring my medication every week for more than a year and I can't remember a single week when he failed to deliver."
Mr Weeks was married to Margaret and had a son David and four grandchildren.
He was a keen bowls player and over the years captained Broughton Gifford and Winsley bowls clubs.
His son said: "He was a happy- go-lucky man who would go out of his way to help everyone.
He loved delivering and visiting everyone. He enjoyed going to see them as much as they enjoyed seeing him.
Mr Weeks's funeral will be held on Wednesday in Haycombe Crematorium, Bath, at 2.30pm. Family flowers only with donations to Dorothy House.
