WILTSHIRE Police is one of the top ten performing forces in the country, according to figures released by the Government today.
Wiltshire came ninth out of 43 forces in England and Wales in the Home Office figures, which are based on factors including crime reduction, crime investigation, promoting safety and focusing on citizens.
Each force is given a rating from excellent, worth three points, to poor, worth minus one point, which allows a rough league table to be drawn up.
West Mercia was the top performing force amassing 16 points. Wiltshire was on par with Kent, Suffolk and Lancashire with 13 points. Humberside was the worst ranked force with minus three points.
