TWO new police community support officers in Warminster have had a busy first few weeks.
After completing their initial training, Caroline Tucker and Tracey Price joined the team and are being tutored by experienced PCSO Caroline Wright and Warminster Pc Vicky Smart.
Earlier this month they were involved in a chase with a suspected thief.
After spotting him in the Market Place he was pursued to the Old Bell pub, where he scaled a wall but then dropped to floor at the feet of PCSO Wright.
A 30-year-old man has been arrested and is on police bail.
Acting inspector Ray Lewis said: "The police in Warminster see the role of PCSOs as crucial in tackling crime as well as anti-social behaviour and quality of life issues.
"This example shows perfectly just how effective the role can be.
"They are very important and valued members of the team here."
