A DINNER and dance held at the Civic Hall in Trowbridge on Friday night helped raise more than £5,000 for a hospital's cancer unit.
Organised by the Trowbridge branch of the Bath Cancer Support Group, the dinner dance was attended by civic dignitaries, including west Wiltshire MP Dr Andrew Murrison.
Music was provided by The Park Lane Big Band and Trowbridge band the Blues Floozies.
All the money will go to the Royal United Hospital's cancer unit.
During the evening a cheque for £1,500 was presented by Geoff Banwell, of Pearson May Chartered Accountants, to support group chairman, Tino Polledri.
The money had been raised at a charity golf day held at Cumberwell Park, Bradford on Avon.
