A BURST water main is believed to be to blame for murky water in the River Wylye, according to the Environment Agency.
The agency was alerted to the problem by 3TR drive time presenter Ray King, 32, who noticed the water in the river by the station's studio in Boreham Mill, Bishopstrow, was dirtier than usual on Saturday.
Adam Davies, from the agency, said: "The water was in quite a poor condition. It was thought to be due to solids that had got into the water somewhere along the river. We tracked the pollution from the offices in Bishopstrow, back through Warminster and on to Crockerton."
