LEIGHTON TOWN have appointed former Swindon Town striker Keith Scott as their new manager.

He replaces Paul Burgess, who was sacked after a disappointing start to the season.

Scott, aged 39 and the holder of EUFA A and B coaching certificates, started his career in the Southern League with Leicester United. He played 51 games and scored 12 goals for Swindon and his other former clubs include Lincoln City, Wycombe Wanderers Stoke City, Norwich City, Reading and Colchester United. He has also had loan spells with Bournemouth and Watford.

More recently he has managed and coached at Queens Park Rangers, Windsor and Eton and Chesham United.

MAIDENHEAD UNITED also have a new manager. Former Yeading manager Johnson Hippolyte took over from caretaker manager Richie Goddard after Saturday's FA Cup tie against Worthing United.

ANDOVER have signed attacking midfielder Glenn Howes from Dorchester Town and defender Mark Hankey from Poole Town.

Howe, who started his career as a schoolboy with Southampton, has also played for Basingstoke Town, Eastleigh, Newport (IOW) and Salisbury City.

Hankey is a young 6' 7" central defender who has played for the National Army team. Andover have also signed left back Charles Knight and central defender Gary Middleton from Salisbury City.

Leaving Andover are left back Mark Keogh, who has joined Bemerton Heath Harriers, midfielder Sean Murphy has gone to Basingstoke, forward Chris Knight has moved to Andover New Street and central defender Tom Willoughby is now at OLA Newbury. Midfielder Tom Baybutt and goalkeeper Andy Wynn are currently at Stockbridge and Alton Town respectively.

DIDCOT TOWN have signed 19-year-old central defender Andrew Gunn on a month's loan from Oxford United.

He has come in to replace David Green, who is likely to be out through injury for another four weeks.

NORTHWOOD have made 20-year-old Peter Dean available for transfer or loan.

Dean is a former Watford YTS player who played for Hayes in the Conference before joining Northwood in March last year.

OXFORD CITY held a special fundraising event on Sunday to launch the new charity stand at their Court Place Farm Stadium. The event raised £1,000 for a local hospice.

City recently announced the unique initiative whereby their main seating stand has been renamed the Helen and Douglas House stand and from now on, spectators on match days will be allowed free admission to the stand but invited to make a donation to the hospice, which provides care for children and young adults. All monies raised will be passed direct to the charity.
