CORSHAM could see its ornamental bollards replaced if a town council request for money is granted.

North Wiltshire District Council has more than £3,000 left over in a pot put aside for town centre funding and has asked for local organisations to recommend projects.

At a meeting of Corsham Town Council on Monday it was decided to request a replacement of the ornamental bollards at either end of the High Street.

Town clerk David Martin said: "Vehicles keep driving into them and marking them so we'd like to get them replaced.

"Any organisation can ask for the money as long as it fits it in with certain criteria.

"We have to match fund it and the district council will decide what schemes can go ahead."

Another idea was to improve the Christmas lights but this would not fit into the district council's criteria.
