AGE has certainly been no limit for one worker at a Trowbridge firm.

It was champagne all round on Monday as colleagues gathered to say happy 80th birthday to Virgin Mobile call centre worker Archie Cook.

Mr Cook has been working at the mobile phone firm for nearly seven years, after completing a working life in teaching, lastly as a maths teacher at The John of Gaunt School in Trowbridge.

Mr Cook, who lives in Trowbridge with his wife Joyce, was picked up by limo on his birthday and taken to the White Horse Business Park headquarters of Virgin Mobile. There he was presented with a box of chocolates, some crystal glasses and tickets to spend an evening at the theatre, with a meal beforehand and a taxi to take him and his wife there and back.

He and the rest of his call centre team then enjoyed a Bucks Fizz breakfast to get his special day off to a great start.
