CAMPAIGNERS in the fight to stop poverty will be attempting a world record this weekend.

Oxfam is trying to get as many people as possible to stand up against poverty' in one 24-hour period, and the Bradford on Avon Oxfam group will be joining in on Sunday.

From 3-4pm in Westbury Gardens they will be unfurling a 150m white band, the symbol of the campaign.

Judith Hammond, from the group, said: "We've been cutting up old white sheets and sewing them together and it has been split into three bands so it can be unrolled from the different entrances"

Everyone concerned about world poverty is welcome to attend and should get to Westbury Gardens for 3pm.
