HAIRDRESSERS will be going pink for the rest of the month to raise money and awareness for breast cancer.

The Courtyard Hair Salon, in Bradford on Avon, will be donating £1 out of every haircut to Breast Cancer UK throughout Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

The salon has been decorated in pink with feather boas and flowers and all the staff will be wearing pink t-shirts.

Salon manager Tanya Thompson said: "For every service we do in October we will donate £1. We just think it's just a good cause.

"I've just had a friend diagnosed with breast cancer and we all know other people, like customers, who have had it.

"One was just 30 when she was diagnosed so we are trying to make more people aware of the disease."

Breast Cancer Awareness month is a worldwide campaign supported by charities all over the country and aims to increase awareness and fund research of the disease.
