THE future of the Royal British Legion club in Melksham will be decided at a meeting on Monday.

The club in King Street shut down temporarily in August because of a lack of trade due to dwindling membership.

Last month the committee put forward a case for ceasing trade and closing the club permanently. This was not approved after a majority of the 32 members present at the meeting put up a counter-proposal to keep it open.

On Monday members will again be asked if they want to keep the club going, and if a majority decide they do, they will need to elect a new committee and come up with a business plan.
