REHEARSALS are in their final stages for Kingdown School's production of My Fair Lady.

A cast of 47 pupils from the Warminster school will be taking part in the musical, which runs from Tuesday to Friday.

Director Anne Thomas said: "It's been going well. We only have six weeks of rehearsals so it's been intense but we've got a very positive atmosphere."

Gemma Carroll, 17, is playing the role of Eliza Doolittle, the Covent Garden flower girl who ends up being transformed into an aristocrat by Professor Higgins, played by 17-year-old Tom Hiscocks.

Gemma said: "I was really excited to get the part but shocked because there was a lot of competition.

"Rehearsals have been hard but I enjoy the challenge. I am starting to get nervous now and even had a nightmare about the show."

Tickets are available from the school on (01985) 215551. Curtain up is at 7.30pm each night.
