A TIMETABLE for when a decision will be made on the Pathways for Changes review will be decided next month.

The newly-merged Wiltshire Primary Care Trust met for the first time on Wednesday in Devizes.

Interim chairman Anthea Millett said board members needed time to read letters and documents relating to the proposals and consultation.

She said: "We do intend to bring something more definitive about the timetable to the November board meeting.

"By then board members will have an opportunity to consider the issues raised and the legacy documents."

The outgoing Kennet & North and West Wiltshire Primary Care Trusts deferred a decision on the proposals, despite promising to make a decision in September.

The options put forward would lead to community hospitals being closed in Warminster, Trowbridge and Devizes.

Melksham would close under all but one of the three options, with Chippenham Hospital was the only one definitely staying open under all three.

Rhona MacDonald, interim PCT chief executive, said a report detailing the total debt transferred from Kennet & North, West Wiltshire and South Wiltshire PCTs would be presented at next month's meeting.

The next PCT board meeting is on November 9 at 10am at Southgate House, Pans Lane, Devizes.
