BIDDESTONE Social are one of four teams who remain in the Wiltshire Sunday Cup hoping to take over the mantle of the best in Wiltshire, currently held by the now-defunct Corsham Centre.

Dan Lardner’s side beat Rodbourne Real 4-0 to make it through to the last 16 where the draw has paired Biddestone together with top flight stablemates Bug & Spider.

Social took the lead on eight minutes when a Tyler Sibbick cross was turned into his own net by a Rodbourne defender.

Sibbick added a second on 22 minutes when he headed home a Nat Auckland cross.

Biddestone increased their lead in the 64th minute with Sibbick raced through the defence and rounded the keeper before finishing well for 3-0.

Biddestone lost Nat Auckland on 68 minutes when he saw red but six minutes later a Sibbick cross was headed home by Jamie Moss to seal Biddy their spot in the next round.

AFC Melksham 2 Greyhound FC 5

AFC MELKSHAM welcomed 10-time winners of the Wilts Sunday Cup Greyhound FC to Christie Miller with high hopes of causing an upset.

But despite leading 2-1 at the break, the visitors' physical approach saw them hit back to claim a 5-2 win.

The loss of Dan Barnett, Josh Robinson and late arrival of Graham Griffiths did not help the pre-match preparation for Melksham.

But as the home team got over a shaky start they weathered the storm before they started to take the game to the visitors and got to grips with an exceptionally physical side.

Greyhound opened the scoring on 35 minutes through Lewis Rice only for Melksham to bounce back with a super goal from Brett Partner.

Melksham then started to get free kick after free kick as the visitors were penalised for some choice tackles and the pressure paid of when Dave Jenkins latched on to a bad pass from Gavin Cook to slot home goal number two and give the home team a shock 2-1 lead at half time.

The first 10 minutes of the second half saw Melksham shoot themselves in the foot and some very poor defending gifted Greyhound two goals that turned the game around.

The next 30 minutes saw Melksham create and miss chance after chance which was to prove costly as with ten minutes to go Greyhound broke the resolve of the Melksham side with a simple fourth, only for Melksham to waste three quick-fire chances to score.

The final nail was Greyhound's fifth in the dying seconds as ref Graham Pearce blew time seconds later after having an array of names in his black book.

Melksham finished with a host of bruised and battered players and will still be counting the cost before selection of next week's league clash at Box.

Chippenham West End 4 Fox & Hounds Marton 2

CHIPPENHAM West End followed up their excellent 7-1 victory over Nationwide FC in round one with a fantastic win over Fox & Hounds Marton, who went into the game unbeaten and top of the Swindon League third division. Fox & Hounds took the lead with a headed effort. James Mullhall levelled with a low strike from the edge of the area.

A spectacular 25 yarder from Phil Mellor saw West End claim the lead and when Ben Hibberd headed home a free kick it gave the hosts a deserved half-time lead.

A Mellor cross was met with a bullet header from Ben Hibberd and although Fox & Hounds scored a second late on the hosts had already done enough to book their place in the last 16.

Corsham United 2 FC Bulford 7 (AET)

CORSHAM United were left thinking what might have been when they conceded a last-minute goal at home to Salisbury League outfit FC Bulford, who then went on to take the tie 7-2 after extra time.

Corsham fell behind to a goal in the opening couple of minutes but they rallied and led 2-1 at half time thanks to goals from Stuart Tutty and Andy Wilkins.

With the clock ticking down Bulford fashioned an equaliser and then romped to victory in added time.

Dynamo Ashton 3 Bug & Spider 5

PREMIER Division side Bug & Spider ran riot against their Swindon League third division opponents Dynamo Ashton in the first half.

But a dreadful second-half showing from Marcus Lovesey’s side almost handed the tie to Ashton who after trailing 4-1 got it back to 4-3 before Bug & Spider scored a fifth to seal their win.

Neurin Jones and two Steve Allison goals put Bug & Spider three up before Ashton pulled a goal back, a three goal cushion was regained when Liam Brown made it 4-1.

The second half saw Ashton get it back to 3-4 before a second from Liam Brown ended their hopes of a dream comeback.

FC Boroughs 2 Wroughton Athletic 3

LEADING 2-0 at half time thanks to goals from Sam Jenner and Mark Lane FC Boroughs had the game in the bag at home to Wroughton Athletic.

But the game changed in the second half once Boroughs had their keeper sent off for a professional foul.

Wroughton scored the resulting penalty and two more goals saw them overturn their first half deficit to win 3-2.

GRFC 2 New Century WMC 4

LAST term's beaten finalists New Century WMC were given a much harder game than they would have expected when they took on third division GRFC.

The Swindon top flight side may have won 4-2 but GRFC made them work for their victory.

Jordan Tarrant missed a glorious chance to put GRFC ahead before the deadlock was broken by New Century in the first half.

Early in the second half they opened up a three goal lead before Robbie Burton pulled a goal back for GRFC.

New Century went 4-1 in front only for Burton to score his second of the game, when he netted from the penalty after a foul on Matt Lang.

Inter Sandgate 4 FC Jager 7

FC JAGER'S first venture into the County Cup ended with a 7-4 win at Swindon Sunday league side-Inter Sandgate.

Melksham Town striker Gary Higdon scored a hat-trick.

Simon Gillatt scored two and singles from Luke Smith and Lee Jackson made up Jager’s seven.
