WITH Corsham Centre not around to defend the Wiltshire Sunday Cup that they themselves successfully defended last season by beating New Century WMC, the league still hope to provide the winners for a third successive year come next April.

Biddestone Social are one of eight teams still left in the competition hoping to take over from where the Centre left off.

Dan Lardner’s side host Swindon League fourth outfit Rodbourne Real and as long as they take the game seriously they should make it through to the final 16.

AFC Melksham may have hit some form in the top flight of the Chippenham League.

But they are going to have to reach another level if they are to have any chance of making into round two.

Mike Rogers' side have been drawn at home to 10-time winners Greyhound, who may not be have the best of times in the Swindon League first division but usually turn on the style when it comes to the Sunday Cup.

Chippenham West End had an excellent result in round one when they beat Nationwide FC 7-1.

Next up for the West End is Fox & Hounds Marton who are unbeaten and top of the Swindon League third division.

If the hosts make it through it would probably surpass all their expectations as their guests are said to be one of the up and coming sides in their league.

Corsham United will be thankful that they have been drawn at home to Sailsbury League outfit FC Bulford, but come full time they may be wishing that they hadn’t ended the competition.

After a slow start Bulford have found some form, however the said could be said for Corsham who have lost just once in seven so it may not be a surprise if the hosts made it through to round two.

Premier Division Bug & Spider make for a short trip to Dynamo Ashton who are currently in the bottom half of Swindon League Division Three.

Bug & Spider will go into the game on the back of two excellent results over AFC Bell and Westbury Rangers A, so they will be disappointed if they didn’t progress.

FC Boroughs entertain Wroughton Athletic, who are doing well in Division Two of the Swindon league and, like GRFC, who welcome last term's beaten finalists New Century WMC, both teams are expected to make an early exit.

FC Jager take part in the Sunday Cup for the first time in their short history and they hit the road to take on Swindon Sunday league side-Inter Sandgate.

The Swindon side are second in Division Two and will be a stern test for Barry Holloway's side.

Jager are taking a bus oad over and, as a result, will have the luxury of a full squad to choose from, including striker Gary Higdon, who will partner current top scorer Simon Gillatt up front.

Jager's only doubt is defender Luke Smith, who may have family commitments this weekend.

One player who definitely won't make the trip to Swindon is captain Mike Hopkins, who is at a wedding in Chesterfield the night before.
