Walkling through Trowbridge Park this week I must comment on what an eyesore the new Civic Hall is, standing out like a sore thumb in its surrounding area.
I am no treehugger but noticed some fully grown adult trees were being cut down in the park which were not directly anything to do with the Civic Hall.
Upon asking why, was told that they spoiled the view of the Civic Hall. I can only assume this meant the view from the Civic Hall looking out of an office window.
I for one would prefer to walk through the park with a view of trees, shrubs and plants etc and not something that resembles an overgrown Butlins’ chalet.
I feel they should be planting more trees to hide this building rather than cutting them down to show it off. They say beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I would like to meet that beholder and book him in to an opticians.
