Broadway hit Cabaret is coming to Warminster next week, courtesy of the town’s Athenaeum Players.
The musical, written by John Kander and Fred Ebb, tells the story of the Kit-Kat Club in 1930s Berlin, during the rise of Nazism.
The Oscar-winning 1972 film version stared Liza Minnelli in the lead role of Sally Bowles.
Claire Dalton, who takes the lead in Warminster, said the production would have a lot of energy, plus eye-catching costumes and dances.
She said: “We are thrilled to be able to perform this great show. It is an opportunity to see a great Broadway show on your doorstep.
“If you enjoy singing, dancing, acting and an interesting story as well, you will be in for a great night.
“I suspect that the audience will be quite shocked at times and it will send them away with a great deal to think about.”
Performances will be from Wednesday to Friday, at 7.30pm. For tickets, at £7, contact the Athenaeum Box office on 01985 213891.
The production is not suitable for under 16s.
