Westbury’s historic Laverton Hall will be back in use tomorrow after a £200,000 refurbishment.
An official opening event tonight will see local community groups and service providers who use the hall receive guided tours of the facilities, with music from students at Matravers School.
The building will open to the public tomorrow with displays and presentations, and staff on hand to answer queries about the project.
Laverton Trust chairman and town councillor Steven Andrews said: “This is a great opportunity for community organisations to take a look at the new state-of-the-art facilities.
“The hall was given to the town for the community to use, so we want to see everyone, from businesses and clubs, community groups to weddings, getting involved.”
Tony Laverton will talk about his new book based on the life of his ancestor Abraham Laverton, founder of the Laverton Institute.
The hall, in Bratton Road, now has improved access for disabled people, new electrics and heating, and has had a thorough paint job and repairs.
New audio and visual equipment has been installed in the hall itself, and in the offices downstairs, which are mainly used by the town council, allowing the building to be used for business conferences as well as community events.
