Police have released one of the men arrested on Sunday night following the discovery of a body near East Knoyle.
The force confirmed he was released last night (Tuesday) with no further action to be taken.
The news comes after police yesterday applied to Salisbury magistrates for a warrant to hold four men in their 40s and a 25-year-old woman for a further 36 hours while they continued with their inquiries.
The body of the local 43-year-old white man was found shortly before 6pm on Saturday in a field on land at Marshes Farm.
Investigating officer DCI Ian Saunders said: "The two other men in their forties and a woman aged 25 remain in custody.
"Crime Scene Investigation officers and specialist search teams are continuing their investigation of the scene in Semley throughout the day.
"A post mortem examination was carried out by a Home Office pathologist but at this stage the results are not available.
"The victim’s brother has been informed of the death and we hope that formal identification will take place later today."
He added: "I would like to appeal for anyone who has any information regarding the murder or who was in the area of The Marshes, Marshes Farm and Semley between 8.45am on Friday and 12.30pm on Saturday and saw any suspicious people or vehicles."
Anyone with information is asked to call the incident room on 01722 435331.
