A police car and a motorcyclist were involved in a collision on the B3107 near Ham Green, Holt, at 8.12am today (Tuesday), leaving the road blocked.
The male motorcyclist was knocked off his bike after clipping the police car near The Old Ham Tree Pub.
A paramedic arrived on scene at 8.18am, followed by an ambulance at 8.32am.
The man, who was not seriously injured, was taken to the Royal United Hospital in Bath for further checks.
There was a diversion in place at the junction of The Star on The Street, while lorries and other large vehicles were advised to find alternative routes around Holt using the A350 or the A361.
The road was cleared and re-opened at about 9.40am.
