personal trainer Cathy Price stopped off in a series of Wiltshire pubs as part of her quest to visit the 600-plus Red Lion pubs in England and Scotland.
The 52-year-old Lancas-trian dropped into pubs in Heytesbury and Lacock, before moving on to Baydon, Avebury, East Chisenbury, Salisbury, Kilmington and Bath.
Among the Wiltshire pubs on her tour was the Red Lion in Heytesbury, which was taken over by Mike and Leonora Beresford only three weeks ago.
Mr Beresford said: “I always speak to people when they come in, as we are new, but with the Preston accent I realised they weren’t local.
“My first thought was, ‘You’ve got a lot of driving to do.’ I actually visited one in Cornwall while searching for pubs to buy here.
“It is a wacky thing to do, but good fun, and they certainly seemed to know about the pub trade.”
The couple moved to Wiltshire after 23 years in Australia.
Mr Beresford said: “Cathy was very complimentary about the pub. She said it was one of the nicest she has been to, which is what we thought as well.”
Mrs Price, whose tour may make the Guinness World Records as England’s longest pub crawl, stayed overnight at the Red Lion, Lacock.
Landlady Kirsty Hoskins said: “She said she had a great stay and that this was a lovely place. We moved here ourselves from Exmoor four months ago, as Lacock is such a beautiful place.”
Mrs Price has had a “token” drink in nearly 100 Red Lions so far. Her next stops will be in Gloucestershire.
