Weight: 9Ib 6oz
Born: 1.03pm, July 31, Trowbridge Birthing Unit
Parents: Joanne Mortimer, 24, and Carl Pearson, 25, of the Toll Gate House, Dilton Marsh.
New parents Joanne and Carl will have an extra special guest when they are married at the end of the month . . . new son Ethan.
Their first child, Ethan was born after a labour of just two hours and 26 minutes.
Fortunately father Carl, a lance corporal in the Coldstream Guards, was able to enjoy his arrival as he is not on a posting away from home.
Mother Joanne, of Trowbridge, said: “It was fine, it was as good as it can be with a 9lb 6oz baby.
“He’s healthy and it’s lovely. He was 13 days late and I was supposed to go into Bath, but it kept getting put off. In the end, it was a natural birth.”
During a straightforward pregnancy, Joanne craved pickled eggs, cheese and Marmite – all at once. The couple decided on Ethan’s name together.
Joanne said: “We both liked it. We knew we were having a boy.
“He’s been sleeping well and is really content and happy. We can’t take our eyes off him. Any little noise and Carl is over at the cot, having a look.
“We’d like to say thanks to all our friends and family.”
The couple are staying with a friend in Dilton Marsh, but are due to move to Windsor in a few weeks’ time.
