GEORGIE Vale is an 18-year-old singer from Warminster who has battled cancer for the past five years but is now preparing to tour again after getting the all-clear earlier this year.

She’ll be going back on the road again for her latest tour across Wiltshire and the South West.

Georgie has gigs lined up at The Lamb, in Devizes tomorrow (Saturday) the Queen’s Head, in Box, on Monday and Riffs Bar, in Swindon, on Tuesday.

During her time of sickness, Georgie continued to perform all across the south west, but often had to cancel or pull out of performances because she was too unwell to perform.

During this time she was being looked after by CLIC Sargent, who help families of children and young adults who are diagnosed with cancer.

To repay all the support she had during her five-year illness, Georgie will be fund-raising during her tour in aid of Cancer Research UK.

She is also planning to add dates in Chippenham, Warminster, Trowbridge and Bath to her tour.

Georgie, who studied at Bath College, says she is influenced by artists including The Cure, Roxy Music, The Smiths and particularly David Bowie.

She also enjoys listening to contemporary performers such as The Maccabees, Laura Marling, Kate Nash and Bombay Bicycle Club.

Georgie, who performed at the 2010 Glastonbury Festival, is also an avid photographer.
