1. Seend Fete and Flower Show Saturday, fete from 12.30pm, flower show from 1.30pm ENJOY traditional summer fun at this village fete, which features numerous stalls and performances.
Arena acts are Wiltshire School of Gymnastics, a falconry and eagle owl display and Shrewton Silver Band Quintet.
The fun begins with a parade of floats and fancy dress at 12.30pm along High Street to the Lye Field, where the fete is held.
In Seend Community Centre, in Rusty Lane, the Seend Flower Show will be taking place.
Hundreds of entries are expected in categories including flowers, vegetables and home produce. Flower show admission is £1.
2. Robin Hood Day Sunday, 11am-3pm GET your Lincoln green on for a day of fun woodland activities at Brokerswood Country Park, near Westbury.
Youngsters will get in free if they turn up in costume.
The day of Robin Hood themed activities includes archery, bowmaking and medieval games.
The fun caters for all age groups, so adults with fond memories of sneaking through the trees to surprise the sheriff can join in.
The day costs £3.75 for adults, £2.75 for children and concessions, but is free for children in fancy dress.
3. Textile and Weaving Festival Saturday, from 11am TROWBRIDGE celebrates its heritage as the textile town once known as the Manchester of the West, in a festival at the town’s museum.
The festival opens on Saturday with two exhibitions, one by BTEC National Diploma in fashion and textile students studying at Trowbridge College and another showcasing new textile artwork by third year Creative Arts students from Bath Spa University.
The aim of the exhibition, at the museum in The Shires shopping centre, is to raise awareness of the town’s industrial heritage and appreciation of modern textile works.
It includes lots of hands-on exhibits and demonstrations of textile crafts such as spinning and weaving.
4. Beer Festival and Family Fun Weekend, Saturday and Sunday, from 11am THERE is something for all the family at The George in Longbridge Deverill, south of Warminster, this weekend as the pub stages a Beer Festival and Family Fun Weekend.
The Beer Festival starts at 11am on Saturday and will run until late on Sunday evening, with a huge selection of local ales and a couple of ciders, which will be served inside and from an outdoor bar.
If the weather is fine, there will be a barbecue as well as the normal menu.
For the family to have fun, there will be a host of activities from bouncy castles and other inflatables to games and tug of war.
Entry is free and all ages are welcome.
5. Children’s Fun Day Saturday, 2pm-4pm YOUNGSTERS under 11 and their parents are invited to enjoy an afternoon of delights at the Paragon Hall in Haynes Road, Westbury, on Saturday.
A puppet show, entertainment from clowns, balloon modelling and a fun disco are all on offer at the event, being run by the town’s Imperial Charity.
Children must be accompanied by an adult to enjoy the free afternoon.
