ST Bartholomew's Church in Corsham will be hosting a teddy bear’s picnic between 2pm and 5pm on Bank Holiday Monday, August 29.
This is the fourth time the church has hosted the event with visitors asked to bring their own teddy bears.
One of the day’s highlights will be a teddy bear parachute show with one bear, Ebenezer, doing a sponsored jump off the church’s tower with all funds going towards St Bartholomew’s spire appeal.
At the event there will be a selection of refreshment stalls, including a teddy bear biscuit icing workshop.
In the church there will be the final day of St Bartholomew’s annual art exhibition which is now in it’s 11th year.
The free exhibition begins on August 20 and runs through to the August Bank Holiday. Opening hours are between 11am and 5pm.
Liz Millward, the church’s leader of finance, said the church was nearing its spire appeal fundraising target. She said: “Around five years ago, we set the target of around £250,000 – we’re probably still around £40,000 away from our overall target.”
Sponsorship forms for the teddy bear’s picnic parachute are available from the church.
