MELKSHAM gained revenge for their pre-Christmas defeat in Wessex Division One to Marlborough as two goals at the start of the second half proved crucial.
After some early Marlborough pressure, Melksham took the lead.
Carol Simpson and Mel Bessell combined to play in Vickie Hathway, who followed up to score after her initial shot was blocked.
Shortly after, Melksham doubled the lead from a short corner as Bessellscored from the top of the D.
Marlborough managed to convert as Helen Lord saw the ball over the line following a goalmouth scramble.
Before half time Phoebe Clarke got the equaliser Marlborough needed as Alex Crosby-Jones worked the ball through the midfield to cross to her at the far post.
But Melksham seized control at the start of the second period, Georgina Doel scoring their third with a reverse stick hook.
Clare Connell’s quick deflection added another before Crosby-Jones scored Marlborough’s third following a short corner.
Marlborough searched for an equaliser, but Melksham keeper Vicky Moxham was in top form.
