CHIPPENHAM Ladies are in the West Clubs Premier Division Two relegation zone after back-to-back weekend defeats.
Chippenham were under early pressure from the pushback in their 5-1 defeat by Lydney Ladies and soon found themselves two goals down.
Nan Roberts went close to opening their account and Sabina Falcone hit a post but despite some excellent saves from Alexis Taylor in goal, Chippenham shipped another two goals.
That soon became five, but Chippenham did manage to pull a goal back when Kath Hunter drove into the Lydney D and fired home.
Needing victory in Sunday’s encounter against Taunton Vale, Chippenham instead slipped to a 3-2 defeat.
Taunton took the lead, but when Chippenham were awarded a penalty corner, Sue Doel slotted home.
Chippenham then seemed to lose composure, falling 3-1 behind, but Clare Widger’s perfectly-weighted ball to Becky Roberts allowed her to slot home the second.
CHIPPENHAM Ladies 4th put up a sterling effort against Wessex Division Two leaders Frome Ladies, despite succumbing to a 5-0 defeat.
