CHIPPENHAM remain unbeaten in the Davis Wood League North Division Two after their weekend double-header.
The Hardenhuish men took their home goals tally to 39 from six matches with a 7-1 thumping of Whitchurch C on Saturday.
Harry Elias opened the scoring early on in the first half and Adam Cruse tapped the ball in from close range to double the lead. 2-0 to the home side.
Luke Morris then beat a couple of defenders on the right hand side before smashing his shot into the far left hand corner of the net and Nigel Stonham completed the scoring for the first half with a drag flick from a short corner. Chippenham remained dominant in the second half with Elias scoring his second, lifting the ball over the goalkeeper from close range.
Whitchurch scored a consolation goa, but Alex Thomas scored twice to seal it.
On Sunday, Chippenham had to come from behind twice to earn a point.
The home side opened the scoring and it wasn’t until early intop the second half that a slick move on the left hand side allowed Chippenham’s Mike Dodd into the Penarth circle to score the equaliser.
But Penarth regained the lead, but Chippenham found a second equaliser. Elias scoring from close range with a high flick.
Ben Snell saved a point for Chippenham with an incredible reverse-stick stop on the goal line.
