IN A classic game of two halves West Wilts played much more fluent hockey to record victory over a well-organised Fry’s side.
Early play saw attacks launched at both ends, Tanya Jackson showing great composure to stop two goal-bound strikes and Sally Webb carrying the ball confidently out of defence.
At the other end, Melissa Ilic worked with Lucy Diggins to threaten the Fry’s goal, but they were unable to breakthrough before half time.
In heavy second-half rain, neat interplay between Tina Towler and Ellie Dent resulted in a shot that was cleared, Towler following up with a cross, which was expertly met by Nic Ilic who slammed it home.
Within five minutes, Nic Ilic had her second, following a precise feed from an Elizabeth Robson free hit.
