HOT-SHOT striker Scott Askew will be bidding to score his 50th goal of the season when his Division Two title-chasing Kings Arms side take on Virgin Mobile on Thursday night.

Askew needs just one more goal to reach his half-century and will be hoping to pass the milestone against Virgin Mobile.

Kings Arms need three points from two games to take the championship, while rivals the Parsons Nose must win all their remaining three games and hope that their rivals slip up.

On Thursday night Kings Arms face Virgin Mobile who, on their day are capable of beating the Arms. But of late Virgin's lack organisation of the field has led to them struggling to raise a team and against the Arms they cannot afford to be short of players.

Parsons Nose travel to Biddestone Arms knowing that nothing other than a victory will be good enough if they are to have any hope of catching the Arms.

Melksham-based Parsons Nose have been in awesome form since early January and have won 12 league games on the bounce, catapulting them from seventh to second place and into a deserved automatic promotion position.

Their trip to Biddestone will not be as easy as many think. Biddestone Arms have a knack of upsetting the formbook from time to time, but on this occasion the Nose should repeat their opening day success.

Southwick Sports are still in with a shout of taking third place and their home game with The Crown Devizes should see them pick up the two points they need to move above Kingfisher in the table. And with FC Bradford and Virgin Mobile left to play, Southwick ought to remain there for the remainder of the season.

Premier Division LEADERS Corsham Centre need two wins from their remaining five matches to claim the championship.

The Centre visit Dog and Fox Ashley on Thursday night and are likely to return to Corsham with one of the wins they need. The Wiltshire Sunday Cup winners have had plenty of time to come back down to earth since they beat County Ground, but they will be wary that the Dog have the players who could spoil their party if they are not full focused on the job in hand.

Bradford News will be hoping that Corsham Cricket Club are able to raise a team for their meeting at Trowbridge Road after they were unable to get a team together for their weekend clash against the Centre.

It's the first time the teams have faced each other this season and should the Cricketers win they will swap places with the newsmen in the table. Sherston Town entertain Winsley and cannot wait for the season to finish.

The 2004 league champions have struggled with injuries as well as a shortage of players this season and are just seeing the campaign out before making a decision on their future.

In the past Sherston would have given Winsley a good game but with the way things are Winsley should romp home. Blue Circle go into their home match against Wheatsheaf on a high after beating local rivals Westbury Rangers B 6-0 at the weekend.

For the cement boys it will be their final match of the season and having waited until the start of 2006 for their first victory, the second half of the season has been much better as they climbed off the foot of the table and to safety with a total of seven wins and two draws.

They have a good chance to make that eight wins.
