PARENTS of pupils at Box Highlands Primary School were given letters on Tuesday officially announcing the suspensions of headteacher Mike Plummer and deputy Sharon Purcell.
The pair were suspended from the school just before the Easter break.
Crisis talks were also held on Tuesday to discuss the immediate future of the school. But officials at Wiltshire County Council are keeping quiet about the reason for the suspension.
Chairman of the board of governors Valerie Richardson, who signed the letter sent to parents, would not comment on the suspensions but said the head and deputy head positions were being shared by Corsham Primary School and an advisory link head provided by Wiltshire County Council.
She said: "I would like to reassure parents that our priority is for the children's education to continue in an orderly manner, which I am confident is being met. Our message is, it's business as usual."
Parent Becky Smith, of Leylands Road, said: "It's worrying because the school won't tell us anything so you naturally assume the worst."
