TEENAGER Emily Clarke is appealing to businesses to donate unwanted stationery for schoolchildren in India.

The 13-year-old, of Holt Road, Bradford on Avon, has so far sent 35 letters to different companies and has received two boxes of stationery, games and toys.

She decided to launch the project as part of the Blitz Campaign at Clarendon College, Trowbridge, which encourages students to help a charity. "I'm trying to help the children and teach other people not to only think about themselves but to give to others," she said.

"I'm planning to take the boxes to India for children who have nothing. It's very difficult for them to learn when they have got no money to buy equipment for school. It's so much easier for us."

Emily, pictured right, hopes to travel to India with her dad this year when he is on a business trip and is also hoping to collect sports equipment and clothing.
